Do you have a legal issue? Do you know anyone that needs legal advice?
This message is to let you know that the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law's JustAdvice® Initiative is coming to the Eastern Shore!
The JustAdvice® Initiative is a program designed to increase community access to legal counsel. Our program, which is based in Baltimore City, is making our second trip to the Eastern Shore on March 2nd & 3rd. The JustAdvice® Initiative seeks to give community members the opportunity to discuss a legal issue with an attorney for thirty to forty minutes for only $10 (with a fee waiver option for persons unable to pay $10). This program seeks to expand access to legal advice so people can figure out the “next steps” required to tackle their legal issue, whether that means proceeding pro se or engaging an attorney referred by our program.
Our staff of student attorneys and experienced volunteer attorneys are able to offer legal advice on a variety of issues ranging from expungement, landlord tenant, employment/labor law, consumer issues, civil cases, and more. Community members can make appointments at (410) 929-4809 (preferred to get an idea of the number of attendees) or may just walk-in to speak with an attorney!
Our Eastern Shore sessions are scheduled for:
FRIDAY, MARCH 2, 2012 12-4pm @ Caroline County Public Health and Service Building in Denton, Maryland
SATURDAY, MARCH 3, 2012 10:30-2:30pm @ Wicomico County Public Library - Main Branch in Salisbury, Maryland
