When we were colonists and fought a war against the king and Parliament so that we could secede from the British Empire and be independent of it, we also fought for the value of personal freedom. That is the idea that in matters of personal choice, the government should play no role. The king only cared about the colonists' personal choices if he could control or tax them.
One of the taxes he imposed was to support the Church of England. The Church of England that the colonists' tax dollars supported was, of course, in England; it was not here. So, among the hateful taxes that impelled the colonists to revolt was this tax to support the king's church.
When the Constitution was written, religious freedom was a principal matter for discussion and debate among the Framers. They addressed this in the first clause of the First Amendment. Before the Constitution even protects the freedom of speech, it protects the natural right to worship or not to worship, free from the government. Here is what it says: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

Catholics should have as many babies as they want. No more no less.
ReplyDeletePeople (Catholics or otherwise) who are responsible citizens should be able to have as many babies as they want. The welfare mommas are the ones having too many babies.
ReplyDelete6:18- so true. At least the Catholics know who their fathers are! LOL
ReplyDeletethe church wants tithers
ReplyDeleteit always has
it was the first form of taxation assumed from the Jew temple exchangers.....................prey pay and Obey and Oh yeah in the dark of night procreate we always need more heavenly fodder to fill the coffers and mission the hungry into a faith of a greater good...much like welfare...............you have to remember the ONE AND TRUE Church was the modern manifestation of conglomerated state hoods and taxation the corporate managerial machine that all modern commerce is veiled in...........and if you dont get that than.....you aint so faithful or informed to take any stand.........read up people what is happening now is not so unique...it is the same old game dividing us over issues and emotions and faith......when in fact if we truly believed in anything we would not be so divided
hyper consumerism has isolated us into a state of ineffectual hoarders and addicts in an idealistic dream of righteousness when in fact no one is with out sin malice and imperfection and none will realize or vanquish our divides until we all come together and exercise what makes us so common stupid and devote to that other than ourselves
funny all other Bibles (except for the cult churches) are just watered down versions of the catholic Bible.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they aren't living off welfare and have jobs and can afford them!
ReplyDeleteWe all want what we want when we want it! Why should the Catholics be any different? Looking out for the good of all doesn't come into play until you achieve the first sentence. That is the American way. Once people begin to make decisions based on the consequences of their actions, the world will be a better place.
ReplyDeleteThe only people that have too many kids are people who don't provide for them and The Duggers(19 and counting) of course lol
