Two Injured In Serious Crash

Location: Eastbound Lewes-Georgetown Highway (SR 9) east of Hudson Road, Milton, DE

Date and Time of Occurrence: Monday, January 9, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.

Operator #1: Thomas B. Phillips, 48, Millsboro, DE
Vehicle #1: 1982 GMC Custom Pickup Truck

Operator #2: Michael L. Jennings, 36, Lewes, DE
Vehicle #2: 1988 Jeep Wrangler

Resume:
Milton, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a serious motor vehicle crash in which two men were injured that occurred yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened at approximately 5:00 p.m. Monday as Thomas B. Phillips, 48, was operating a GMC Pickup truck and was traveling westbound on the Lewes-Georgetown Highway approximately .3 miles east of Hudson Road. Phillips’ vehicle then drifted into the eastbound lane where it struck the front of a Jeep Wrangler which was being operated by Michael L. Jennings, 36.

Thomas Phillips was removed from the scene by Emergency Medical Services and transported to the Beebe Memorial Hospital where he was admitted for treatment of his non life threatening injuries. Michael Jennings was also removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Beebe Memorial Hospital where he was admitted with serious injuries.

Lewes-Georgetown Highway was closed for approximately 3 hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
