Do you buy generic brand batteries?

tried it, they end up costing more as they dont last as long

ReplyDeleteI used to buy GC-2 golf cart batteries at Sam's club - now I see they have changed brands yet again and now they are InterState Batteries. I really do not know what brand they have labeled as Sam's has the company mask the manufacturer. Then as far a lithium ion batteries - Craftsman labels their Craftsman - when in fact they are manufactured by Sanyo. And yet they have also changed brands yet again. So I really do not know what I'm buying.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll stick to the energizer 9 volt batteries - as there are some of those labeled generic.
Nothing wrong with generic brand.. Just make sure you're buying alkalines and not the "Heavy Duty" type. Heavy Duty batteries aren't alkalines but are zinc-carbon, cheaper and don't last as long.
ReplyDeleteNo I always buy Duracell or Energizers I tried the generic batteries that fizzle out to quickly.
ReplyDeleteGeneric batterys leaked and ruined my favorite mag light. Never again!
ReplyDeleteI always buy the least expensive. If you take some time and research this, you will find that overwhelmingly the studies on batteries always show that the better value for your dollar is in the generic batteries. The generics perform as well as the name brands... the exception is in the "high end" lithium ion batteries (brand name) which performed better.. but at 4 times the cost without providing 4 times the life.

Go to Dollar Tree and get the real brands for much less!
