Some States Could Lose Millions In Education Funds

Several states that won a slice of the U.S. Department of Education's $4.3 billion Race to the Top competition have had to delay plans to implement ambitious reforms and two could possibly lose money if they don't get back on track.

  1. How about letting ALL the states "lose" those funds, and reduce the deficit by a like amount??

  2. If teachers' evaluations depend on student achievement, then so should the evaluations of administrators, supervisors, the superintendent and all others. Teachers can't make all kids "average" so why are they the only ones whose evaluations will depend on the efforts of kids who won't behave and won't work?
