SBYNews - Has The Daily Times On The Run!

Joe -

I have to chuckle as I scan this mornings Daily Times. All week SBYnews has framed major issues - (Bennett Middle School Project, Massive Schoolteachers Pension Cost Shift, Delmarva's Stagnant Employment, and our bleak national economy under Obama) .

This morning it is evident that SBYnews have 'flushed out the varmits' as The Daily Times seeks cover. Look at their articles on our thriving local economy and the BMS project. Quite a stark contrast in comparison to SBYnews.

I find it refreshing to finally have the ability to enjoy a change in media venue.
LONG LIVE SBYNEWS!

  1. I barfed in my corn flakes when I saw the front page of the Daily Times. The paper is not even pretending to be objective anymore. It's just a mouthpiece for certain political factions in the city and the county.

  2. "Wicomico County is fast becoming the laughingstock of the state for its refusal to take care of its very legitimate needs." says the Daily Times.

Funny how they never once mentioned ALL of the things O'Malley has introduced AFTER the Council turned the deal down. It was more than smart for the County to walk away from Bennett Middle School. Our country is in deep trouble and SOMEONE has to act fiscally responsible FOR ONCE.

Again, I'll repeat, the Daily Times has lost their influence and are now doing everything, (complaining) they claimed the Blogs have been doing for years.

Get used to it Mike Dunn and Daily Times. Your free rides are over.

  3. 10:17, amen! Who does the Daily Times hate and smear regularly? Joe Holloway, Stevie Prettyman, and anyone who doesn't carry Rick Pollitt's water, Debbie Campbell, Terry Cohen, Tim Spies, and anyone not carrying Jim Ireton's downtown wastewater.

It is nothing but a mouthpiece for agendas.

  4. Mike Dunn reminds me of that whack-a-mole thing. How many times does he have to be repudiated before he gets the message?

  5. I thought there perspective was interesting; we need a new JMB Middle because the halls are dimly lit (that really hurts our children and restrains their learning), and business is thriving - two breweries (one chose DE to start with though owned by the SIL of WBOC owner, the other rejected by Salisbury) plus the hospital and college. Wow, booming economy when businesses are folding left & right but for an overpriced school and a hospital.

  6. That article in the DT about Bennett Middle is so one sided it should be called the propaganda press for Wicomico County liberal elitists.

  7. Did the DT mention the shift in who pays part of teacher pensions? Any mention that Board and Rick knew this before Tuesday's meeting?

  8. Wow! FOUR articles, and they all say the same thing, "We spent your 8 million on an empty lot instead of air conditioning a school building! Now give us more!"

  9. Thank you council for not letting us get into a bigger hole we're already in.

  13. I to almost spit-out my coffee as I scanned The Daily Times front page.

The Daily Times is nothing more than an illusion - and I have lost all respect for a once respectful newspaper.

Between Memo Diriker and his PACE organization and the House of Lords - who do they think they are fooling? By now they must realize that they are - indeed - the laughing stock of Wicomico County.

Joe Albero - I do not know all of your team - but just keep doing it. There is nothing wrong in telling the truth and that you have spoken loudly.

  14. To SBYnew Staff

After reading today's Daily Times - its as if the Daily Times is trying to cover their asses by following SBYnew's coverages.

From my observation - SBYnews all week has 'picture framed the issues' - and then The Daily Times initiates a cover-up.

For the really observant readers - SBYnews sets the tone - and then The Daily Times tries to fly on SBYnew's coattails.

This organization really has scared the daylights out of the former MSM. Good work - for a job well done.

What resistance? This isn't directed at you but there are some on this site that talk a lot of smack but when reality stares them in the face, harsh reality, they run right back to the status quo.

They want rights, they want freedoms, but when some people act on that or even speak of it, they turn tail and run.

It's a good thing these people weren't around a couple hundred years ago. We would still be drinking tea and talking funny.

  16. For what its worth I hope that SBYnews doesn't change the way The Daily Times has. As I read the article this morning I thought to myself why did I even bother to buy this crap. I'm going to make it a point to call tomorrow and cancel my subscription.

  17. Joe you don't have anyone on the run. The majority of your articles are cut and paste from somewhere else and the ones that you do write are pitiful. You are an undereducated dufus that thinks he is great. Please do us all a favor and leave here or better yet, blow your worthless brains out.

  18. John Wilson Sr. Grow Up and Shut Up. Let me add, Jackass, look at the Daily Times, fool. MOST everything they publish every day comes from, (copy & paste) the Associated Press, (AP) or the USA Today.

MOST of what WBOC putts out there is also copy and paste.

The difference, Salisbury News provides far better coverage of local news, BECAUSE WE'RE THERE.

As for your suggestion I take my own life, man, I'd LOVE to meet you face to face, if you are who you say you are. You need a good ass kicking.

  19. To John Wilson Sr.

If I were a betting man - I would bet that you are affiliated with The Daily Times.

Comments like the one you have made will not be tolerated on this site. One more outburst like the one you just made - and I'll delete from this string entirely.

  20. Its not just Wicomico county that is concerned, but neighboring counties as well. Dorchester is already dealing with a very high employment rate and cannot afford these increases as shown in last weeks dorchester star news. The poorer counties in this state are broke and its unfair to keep asking for more when the majority of us are earning less! Either cut spending or bankrupt us all and they will be forced to do this anyway. I am totally tapped out. I am earning less than what I used to make five years ago before the great recession. I am now selling off things just to make ends meet. Really what more can I do? I and many others can't take much more of this!!!! Can't get blood from a turnip!!!!

  21. What resistance you say? Most of the problems out here stem from being part of the status quo of beleiving what the media and elected officials tell you and thats why we have the large deficits today.Just because only 10 people comment doesnt mean hundreds are'nt reading and reacting.

  22. Joe, you do a great job and we appreciate your dedication to the community. Are you still planning to cover politics in Ocean City? I'm hoping that answer is yes, but I haven't seen anything on here recently.
