New City Solicitor Mark Tilghman advised the City Council today that they do not have to go through a long drawn out process to do another national search for a new Fire Chief.
No matter what anyone says, Rick Hoppes has done his time, knows the ropes and as brutal as the Salisbury Firefighters can be on their Chief's, either Rick has the backbone for it or he'll fold like the rest of them have.
We'll see what their final decision is at the next City Council Meeting but if I was a betting man I'd say Rick Hoppes is your next Fire Chief.
What about the living in the city requirement? Will that be dropped, or just ignored.
ReplyDeletewhat was his involvement in the new building and the fireboat?
ReplyDeleteThis has been going way before I left the County and that was in 2010. So sad. Drag it out why don't ya..?
ReplyDeleteThe Salisbury fire dept is the laughing stock of Salisbury, They should hire a private company to run and staff it.
ReplyDeleteLaughing at Ireton, and his stupid press releases, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a joke.
The job description requires the applicant to possess a bachelors degree and the paper stated he didn't a a degree. If you are going to complain about Simpson not meeting the qualifications then you can't allow Hoppes to get away without meeting the qualifications. Now which is it? Looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
ReplyDeleteWhere does Hoppes reside????

Yes. He loves spending money that isn't his.
He was also involved in the 5 brand new fire trucks.
He was also involved in the million dollar unneeded Hazmat Truck.
He was also involved in the unneeded rehab of 2 fire engines that were only 2 years old.
Wrong choice.
Stand by. Volunteers are pushing this through. Hoppes will be able to be controlled by them, Gordo will be back, as well as the pirate will be promoted. Excessive spending to continue. Jimbo has to go.
