New One Stop Job Market

The One Stop Job Market (formerly located at 917 Mt. Hermon Road) has relocated to 31901 Tri County Way (the old Comtek building) across from Wor Wic Community College. The location houses agencies such as Telamon Corporation, the Maryland Workforce Exchange (DLLR), Tri-County Council, Social Services and Wicomico County Child Support among others. The new building opened to the public this morning.

  1. The only growth that I'm seeing in and around Salisbury is Government Growth. If only our elected officials would see that it is a 'no win' situation to have a shrinking private workforce and an ever expanding government workforce. It really is a no brainer - as all of these facilities have to have maintenance, electric, more personel to man the facilities, more land, - (now taken out of tax base). Just look at the vast amounts of land that have been taken off of the tax rolls - not to mention the loss of inventory tax, sales tax receipts, etc.

And people wonder what is wrong with our State & Local economies.

  2. This makes no sense to me. The rent has to be more since it's just been redone. People that used to be able to walk there or take the bus can no longer do that or does the bus come down to wor-wic now?

  4. Listen Anon 1:47PM:

The people whom work for the govt, well the elite which is congress and above are not morons or dumb or idiots, they have to be smart to run the country...

Now, what you do have is a bunch of people who are everyday citizens whom think that the govt is dumb or stupid in which case, its of the latter...

The point is, the govt workers are smart, its just that they do what they want and they DON'T CARE what we think or do or say and this won't change... You have regular people whom have no brain and can not think for themselves so in essence they have to be told what to do or think or say (I.E the people who voted for Obama because he was black or because they thought they would get more entitlements)

I wish people of the USA would stop saying the govt people are dumb because they are not, they are smart enough to get your dumb asses to vote for them over and over, and they take your liberties and you all say "Yes, sir may I have another"

Things are broken because the govt wants it to be broken... If its broken then they can say see it doesn't work, now we gotta spend money to fix it, but in reality all they did is just top working or enforcing it and it fell apart as anything would if you neglect it long enough...

If you want to change something, try being smart for a change, try thinking for yourself and actually do research so you have knowledge to prove yuor thoughts, until then no one is any better and nothing will be fixed if you continue to listen to the the govt says...

  5. Yes, the bus goes out to Wor-Wic. Seems like a good idea to consolidate all those agencies into one building. Especially for those of us with no transportation.

  6. It seems that not only have several agencies been brought under one roof to provide better efficiency for customers it has also allowed the government agencies to consolidate into one space instead of renting several to house the same agency (i.e. ShoreTransit).

Which by the way, I'm under the impression that since Shore Transit will be housed there as well there will be a bus stop for those with little or no transportation.

If it's that inconvenient I guess folks will learn to live without government assistance!

  8. I guess now in the summer months the amount of pedestrians struck at that intersection will rapidly increase as they think they are entitled to cross even without a crosswalk?
