Resume:
Milton, DE- Delaware State Police Property Crimes detectives have arrested a Milton, DE man in connection with three residential burglaries that he committed to two separate residences in December.

On Thursday, January 12, detectives arrested Bruce G. Satchell and charged him with three counts each of Burglary 3rd Degree, two counts of Theft, and 3 counts of Criminal Mischief. He was then arraigned at JP Court 2 and committed to the Department of Corrections for lack of $12,500.00 secured bail.

Detectives were able to link Bruce satchel to a series of residential burglaries that had occurred in the 16000 block of Sam Lucas road in Milton in December of 2011.

In the first burglary which occurred on Thursday, December 8, Satchell entered a residence by prying open the front door. Once inside, he proceeded to remove money from the home before fleeing.

The second burglary occurred on Saturday, December 10, as Satchell gained entrance to a residence by climbing through a rear window. Once inside he again removed money before exiting the home. As Satchell walked toward the front of the home, he was contacted by the home owner who had just arrived. Satchel then asked the homeowner if he needed any yard work done. The homeowner advised that he did not at which time Satchell left the area on a bike. The homeowner then responded to the rear of his home where he then discovered that it had been burglarized.

The third incident occurred on Sunday, December 22 as Satchell again entered the home he had burglarized on December 8. He fled the home however, without obtaining any property. After troopers arrived at the residence to investigate, they used a Delaware State Police K-9 to track the suspect to the area of the Dogfish Head Brewery located in the Cannery Village Center in Milton. However, the K-9 lost the track in a marshy area. As this was occurring, a detective from the Milton Police Department stopped a male subject, later identified as Bruce Satchell, walking northbound from the area. The detective noticed that Satchell had mud on his pants and shoes. He was then released a short time later.

Through evidence located after the December 8 burglary, detectives were able to link Bruce Satchell to all three burglaries that had occurred and arrested him on January 12th without incident.
