Maryland Fire Marshal investigators have arrested a 45 year old Fruitland man on charges of arson. Officials say Thomas McGarvey set a fire inside his parents home Saturday afternoon – causing about $70,000 in damage. The fire was started in McGarvey’s bedroom after a dispute with his family – he’s charged with 1st and 2nd degree arson and other offenses.
