    Of course we are. Declines in public sector employment, declines in manufacturing productivity and output, declines in retail sales, and declines in tax revenues all say our economy is retreating from previous levels.

    No. I believe we are in a depression. I've seen recession in my lifetime, but have never seen anything like this. Try being a Tradesman! If you were one, you would feel the same way I do!

    YES and things are only going to get worse. Joe I would like to know if there are alot of preppers here on the eastern shore?

    As Dutch put it,a recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose your job.We are in terrible fiscal trouble and it's getting worse by the month. A recession at least.

    I am involved in the housing industry. This industry is literally DEAD!

    I have never seen it this bad before, even with so-called "recession" economies. This is much worse than the recessions of the late 1970s/early 1980's, or the early 1990's.


    As the housing industry goes, so goes the rest of the economy. Only when housing improves will you see any form of real recovery.
