  3. For sure! I have to show ID when I cash a check, buy beer, even when I donate blood. I have no problem with that because I have nothing to hide.

  7. I guess there are no Libertarians here. I don't think that the state has any business issuing me a little plastic card and then telling me I need to carry to it every where I go if I want to play a part in their elections.

  8. YES! I also think we need to move to inking the finger or something like that too. Just to insure someone doesn't vote more than once.

  9. They ask me for mine when I vote in Delaware. It should be that way nationwide.

  10. positivly YES. there is so much corruption today; we must do what we can to be sure ONLY legal citizens who are registered to vote will vote.

we have become like a banana republic in this arena. not good for our nation. this must be made legal and secure.

  11. The only people that object to this are ones that are involved in fraudulent activities. Of course the democrats are against this as a percentage of their voters do not have a official government id. For those of you that are opposed to showing a identification to vote in a GOVERNMENT ELECTION, then don't vote. Just like having to get a license to drive a car, its a privledge not a right, check the constitution its not in there. If you dont want to get a license then you DONT DRIVE.

  12. Yes. I guess 11:43 must not have a drivers license either. Although you can get one of those if your illegal in Maryland anyway.

  13. 12:18, you are completely correct here and your analogy is picture perfect. Voters should have to show they qualify by being non felons as well as full citizens. Don't want to sign up? Then you can't vote!

  14. Without a doubt, yes. If there is a good reason why we shouldn't show id I wish someone would let me know.Don't try playing the race card because people of all races and creeds have drivers licenses or identification cards.

  15. Everyone is supposed to have an ID on their person, if the police ask, you're supposed to have one. So why not when voting? That's a must!

  16. No question about it, no photo ID, no vote!

  17. Of course. If I need ID for a six pack, I should need it to vote.

You must not have been to the DMV lately. They do not give them to illegals anymore. They changed it about 2 years ago. The place is dead now and it takes you no time at all to get in there get what you need done and get out.

  20. We have to show our identification for everything else! Of all things we do in America, voting and legally voting should be a priority! Who came up with the idea that showing a picture ID is discriminating? Is that what we should tell everyone else that asks for a picture ID....you're discriminating! What is really going on in our country with this president?

  21. Yes. Proof of citizenship and address should be required when you register to vote. Your ID should be checked when you vote. Addresses should be analyzed for fraudulent patterns (like having 50+ people registered out of a condemned house). Voter roles should be regularly purged of people who die or move out of the district.

In addition, votes should have a verifiable, auditable trail (ie, paper ballots). I don't trust voting electronically, because there's no residual proof that my vote has been recorded properly. The only record is what the machine says, and it can be programmed to say anything.

  23. Cerealposter: it doesn't. There are places that you can go to and get help to pay for a Birth Certificate and that is what is needed to get a I.D. card or a Drivers License. map
