Mr. Albero,
Since it wasn't on the news last night I wanted to tell you that Specific Gravity was robbed during business hours. Around 7:30 a large group of both black and white males entered the building with weapons and robbed both the business and its customers. Very similar to the recent robbery at maho's. I have to wonder if it's not being broadcast because of the close location to the college but people and businesses in this general area need to know these guys are out there so they can try to protect themselves. Thanks and have a great Christmas!
Jennifer Guard
Thank God Maryland has one of the most restrictive concealed weapon laws in the United States. Can you imagine if all the patrons in Specific Gravity had concealed weapons and drew all at once, that large group of both black and white males criminals may have gotten themselves shot and killed.

Where and what is Specific Gravity.? Ive never heard of the place? The community does need to know of these things..Puts us all out there as easy targets...What is this city coming too?
ReplyDeleteI am all for CC, but posts like this make me glad they do not hand out CC like candy around here. Some situations do not warrant deadly force, especially in a small room with other people.
ReplyDeleteOn another note I wanted to say I hope everyone is ok and sorry to hear this happen to such a good group of guys that are just looking to put out a good brew.
I will understand if the next time I visit I see video cameras all over the building, and also at the old ice factory.
Wait, come to think of it, this is DE, you can CC in DE, but that is a whole other topic.
You will never see stuff like this on the news or in the paper in Salisbury, MD - No, this stuff doesn't happen here - at least that is what they want you to believe. Not everyone has a computer and it's just not fair that WBOC, WMDT or Daily Times won't report what goes on in Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteGuess I know what I am asking for for Christmas, a .45. Maryland has put its inhabitants at such a disadvantage to those who do not care about the law what so ever. It is time to wake up and see, I assume the reason for CC's being so hard to obtain in MD is because of DC being so close but I am not sure anyone else know why?
ReplyDeleteBummer. Specific Gravity is just off the intersection of College and Eastern Shore Drive, across from the Bennett Middle field. Great place, right next to Viva coffee house.
ReplyDeleteNo, you won't see stuff like this in your crappy newspaper. Like today's front page, they're too busy pimping for the old business guys in town to worry about young good guys like Specific Gravity getting robbed.
Thank You for posting this...we would have never known and my guard will be up even more than normal especially when the kids are out with us.
ReplyDeletein case anyone does not see the post further up the page, i was apparantly given incorrect information and i sincerely appologize for repeating it. i had no reason to believe it was not accurate. im sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if it is not in the paper because printing it would just give ideas to those who are up to know good. If it happened at Mojo's, could it be that word got around to the "bad guys," and they decided to do the same thing--or maybe it was the same bad guys.
ReplyDeleteConcealed carry, like it or not, studies has shown a decrease in violent crimes. Imagine the thought process, rob this one, nah looks like he owns a gun.
ReplyDeleteAlso the robbery was in the parking lot, barely Specific Gravity. I hope Specific Gravity has cameras inside and out, they are going to need them, located next to the largest growing crime area.
And to the person who said, "what is the city coming to" Ummm, hate to tell the city went a long time ago. It is now rated the 4th or 5th worst place to live in the US, not MD in the U....S..... to live per crime per capita. This city is not coming to, it went a long time ago.
Oh yeah, Specific Gravity, great beer and very unique pizza, gotta try it.
ReplyDeleteAround BOTH colleges in the area, many incidences are NEVER reported because the colleges don't want them reported. Obviously they care much more about their reputations than the safety of their students.
ReplyDeleteBe safe out there!
