Texas Congressman Ron Paul, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, pulled ahead of former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney to secure 2nd place in the latest Des Moines Register of likely Republican caucusgoers in Iowa with 18 percent of the votes. Mr. Paul beat Mr. Romney by 2 percentage points. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich garnered 25 percent of the votes to earn a 1st place finish. Pizza magnate Herman Cain, who has “suspended” his campaign, tied Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann with 8 percent of the votes for 4th place.
