Newt Gingrich: Poor Kids Don't Work "Unless It's Illegal"
DES MOINES, Iowa - After saying recently that child labor laws are "truly stupid," Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich on Thursday told an Iowa audience that children in poor neighborhoods have "no habits of working" nor getting paid for their endeavors "unless it's illegal."
when a white guy says it, he's wrong. When a black man says it, he's considered a pillar of his community for pointing out the obvious. Case in point, Jim Brown and Bill Cosby.
I wil have you know this is not the truth. Myself and family live at poverty level and I have 3 very hard working children. My oldest daughter will graduate from SU in may and has worked 2 jobs since high school. My son attends high school and works a full time job in the evening. My 16 year old daughter also works. They were all raised with a good work ethic and know you have to work for what you have. They have all been very responsible with work and money. All have bank accounts and save as much as possible.
The family-oriented, man of the people, face of the GOP.
ReplyDeleteEverything he said is absolutely true!
ReplyDeleteCosby said it and got in trouble too.
that's why they must bring russians in to work in OC. american kids won't work at the beach anymore because the work and pay is beneath them.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work Newt! Nothing but the truth...
