(AP) - What happens within the black community when the gap widens between the poor and the affluent? That's one question raised by new census data showing well-off African-Americans leaving cities for the suburbs and the South while the ranks of the black poor grow larger.
Over the past decade, the share of black households ranking among the poorest poor _ those earning less than $15,000 _ climbed from 20 percent to 26 percent, according to census figures released Thursday. Other racial and ethnic groups posted smaller increases. During the same period, the percentage of African-Americans making $200,000 or more a year was unchanged at 1.1 percent, even after the Great Recession.

If your an american, call yourself an american. I'm part German, but I don't call myself German-American! Get past this racism already.
ReplyDeleteThis is not only happening to blacks.
ReplyDeleteYou know that saying "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
So where does the Constitution give our government the right or responsibility to equalise life outcomes?
ReplyDeleteWho, besides the communists and socialists, promised that to anyone?
There are many factors involved in the spread, but one of the biggest ones is people sitting on their butts expecting the others who work to give them some of their money to make things more equal.
If you want things in life:
1) Show up for school
2) Pay attention and do the work
3) Give up the idea that life owes you something-- go out and earn it.
4) Be a blessing, and you will be blessed.
It's sad that so many have been brainwashed by the liberal elitists into thinking they can't do things on their own.
YOU CAN DO IT!
I agree, this rich-poor gap is not exclusive to one race.
ReplyDeleteWhen we stop paying people to have children they can't afford, society might be able to make progress. Not a minute before. No matter the race, a boss doesn't give an employee a raise if the employee is adding to his or her family. More children means less to spend on each child, not more. Why should the government encourage people to mass produce?

Not sure but I would guess government workers receive the most. Than corporations. Then other countries. Then somewhere down the list our own people get some help. But no one likes to help our own people, right?
