WASHINGTON (CNN) -- December holiday shoppers were not just interested in buying the hottest electronics and toys -- they also were purchasing record numbers of guns, according to the latest FBI figures on background checks required to buy firearms.
With a few days left in December, the FBI reports the number of background checks has already topped the previous one-month record -- set only in November -- of 1,534,414 inquiries by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System also known as NICS. Almost half a million checks were done in just the last six days before Christmas.

ReplyDeleteI think I need another one soon. I have more trust in myself to protect my faimly then my goverment. I guess I'm not a liberal.
ReplyDeleteBuy guns from private individuals. You can find anything from a .22 to twin .50 cal's and you don't have to ask the cops for permission. And you don't have your name on a "pick 'em a soon as trouble breaks out" list. After cutting off comm links, our "protect and serve" forces will start REALLY "protecting" us by going house to house with the aforementioned list. "Checkpoints", which have been loudly cheered, will prevent too much running around by the citizenry. But it will be waaaaay too late to complain THEN. Better get ready. Fast. They are, at breakneck speed.

ReplyDeleteAND, learn how to shoot. Go to firing range or out in woods somewhere. Get a good target with a backdrop that will stop the bullets and not travel further to cause harm.
Practice, practice, practice. Don't aim it at anyone unless you are prepared to shoot. And if you do shoot, shoot to kill. Wounded people can still fire back and come back later in life for revenge.
Prepare yourself mentally for that feeling you will get when you take a life. It's not a good one.
Merely pointing a gun at someone is a crime in this state. Even if you don't shoot, you could still be arrested.
Keep in mind when and if you do shoot someone, the bullet may still travel and cause further damage to anything or anyone past your intended target.
