Are the rich really the unfeeling boors they're made out to be? Studies suggest that the richer people are, the less compassion they show.
Pity the poor plutocrat. Politicians want to tax them, Occupy Wall Streeters mock them, 99% of their fellow citizens are mad at them (even if they secretly want to be one of them). Now comes word from the University of California, Berkeley, that is not likely to send their approval ratings any higher: a new study has confirmed that the richer you are the less compassionate you are — and don’t gloat, you upper-middle classers, that includes you too.

my compassion didn't matter untill I got money.
ReplyDeleteWhile many wealthy people are compassionate, most are not in my opinion. Especially in this area. Worcester County has the highest unemployment rate of all counties in MD as well as the lowest pay rates in the state.
ReplyDeleteUncompassionate, selfish & greedy business owners prefer it this way in order to oppress their area residents and employees to work the menial grunt jobs at their businesses to keep them up & running, which in turns generates their wealth.
Life 'aint always about being successful & the money, it's about living a purpose-filled & significant life. Unfortunately most of the wealthy are selfish & greedy and disagree.
You can't serve two masters.
