DMV To Phase In 8-Year Driver's Licenses

Delaware's joining a growing trend--issuing driver's licenses valid for 8 years. State DMV Director Jennifer Cohan tells WDEL News it's already being done elsewhere in the region.

    anyone over 65 should be on a six month renewal with testing

    Its all about the money.. The state will collect 8 years' fees in advance, increasing the annual fee at the same time, knowing that few people will notice the annual increase. 'just kicking the can down the road' so they can spend the next 8 years' income today.
