Just wanted to add my 2cents to this, make sure if they are selling a CORD that you receive a 4x4x8 (128 cubic feet) amount of wood, a nifty online calculator can be found here: http://www.maine.gov/ag/firewood.html.
Also wood cut and split this last spring is NOT seasoned, do yourself a favor and buy a moisture meter, Harbor Freight has a cheap one that works great (http://www.harborfreight.com/digital-mini-moisture-meter-67143.html) this will tell you if that split of wood is truly seasoned.
If you are burning in a newer EPA stove you should check to make sure your wood has less than 25% moisture to prevent creosote, you will find this stated in most owner manuals.
Hope everyone has a safe burning season and everyone stays warm!
