WASHINGTON – A dozen survivors of the January shooting rampage in Tucson, Ariz., that severely wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) lobbied federal lawmakers Tuesday to broaden federal background checks on potential gun owners.
The effort marked the first time since the shooting, which killed six and wounded 13, including Giffords, that a large group of Tucson survivors have banded together to weigh in on the politically charged issue.

They want to tear up the constitution and prohibit law abiding citizens from defending themselves.
ReplyDeleteMore knee jerk legislation. We have gun laws out the ying yang. When are these numbnuts gonna realize criminals or anyone, who wants a gun will get a gun no matter what laws are there.
ReplyDeleteHeck if they are that desperate they can make one.
I know it conjours up images of the wild west, but if everyone were armed I think there would be less victims. If you can't defend yourself, welcome to the world of statistics.
This was an unfortunatev incident, but we already have to many gun control laws on the books. It has been proven where the least gun control laws are the crime rate goes down not up. The strictest gun law states have the highest crime rartes. given fact. Maybe we should pass baseball bat control laws or silverware control laws. That is how stupid you all saound to me. Maybe a hammer control law.
ReplyDeleteThe second amendment still stands. A law abding citizen should have the right to keep andbear arms.
They aren't trying to keep the guns out of the law abiding citizens, they are trying to find a better way to keep guns from the people not responsible enough to have one. The shooter of Rep. Giffods had a history of mental issues but was able to purchase a gun legaly at one of the local sporting goods stores. These are the type of individuals they are trying to prevent from obtaining guns.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe gun laws will prevent this sort of thing from happening again.
ReplyDeleteA CRIMINAL will find a way to get their hands on a gun if that's the method they choose to use to commit their crime.
The gun laws already in place didn't stop this guy from getting one, now did it!?
More waste of time in Washington!
Fix our REAL problems!
They aren't trying to keep the guns out of the law abiding citizens
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what they are doing. Law abiding means people who will follow their laws. What does criminal mean?
So should every mental case out there be allowed to buy a gun?
ReplyDeleteThis same bunch stiring up trouble.
ReplyDelete"They aren't trying to keep the guns out of the law abiding citizens, they are trying to find a better way to keep guns from the people not responsible enough to have one."
ReplyDeleteMaybe your President should stop selling them guns across the border!!!
We have enough gun laws but the government picks and chooses what laws they want to enforce just look at illegal immigration.
ReplyDeleteObama will have his SS troops take our guns away soon enough
ReplyDeleteSo should every mental case out there be allowed to buy a gun?

There are ALREADY laws that address that.
And who is to say some 'law abiding citizen' today, won't become a 'mental' tomorrow?
It's just feel good legislation to make it look like they are doing their job by making more useless laws.
And the richer one is, the less laws he has to follow.
