No Smoking Within 25 Feet Of Federal Buildings

A new bill would ban smoking within 25 feet of a federal building, GovExec reported. Rep. Susan Davis (D-Calif.) said the government is not doing enough to enforce its own policy. Smoking in federal facilities was first banned by a Clinton administration executive order. Subsequent policy from GSA eliminated designated smoking areas. GovExec reported that current policy is not enforced in leased buildings not administered by the GSA. The Davis legislation would close that loophole.

  2. This is ridiculous! Why do they keep coming after the smokers at every turn?
I've never minded not being able to smoke inside, because I didn't anyway, out of courtesy, but 25 feet? C'mon!
I'm so sick of the self-rightousness of the non-smokers, MANY of them who used to be SMOKERS!

  4. I believe there are far more serious issues going on in goverment buildings than a person smoking outside. Smokers are made to feel like scum of the earth by the self-rightous nonsmokers. But, they love the tax collected from smokers.
With the situation in the world today I believe everyone should be more considerate of other peoples faults. One day, smoker or not, we are all going to end our time here on earth. So, what time we have left, let's try to live in peace.

  5. sorry 830, no one wants a does of your cancer on the way through the door. Not to mention the smell. Matter of fact, why don't you guys just go ahead and set up a "smokehouse" right beside the crack house? You are all strung out addicts.

Oh that's a real nice accurate and mature statement. Why don't we bring back the state mental hospitals so people like you can have a place to live and get your meds on a timely matter.
