Legal Pain Killers Killed 15,000 People In 2008, Marijuana Likely Killed Zero
Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that the number of deaths from overdoses of legal prescription painkillers had more than tripled over a decade, killing a shocking 15,000 people in 2008 — more than died from heroin and cocaine overdoses combined. This “epidemic” of pain killer abuse is troubling in its own right and demands public policy answers, but it also helps to underscore the incongruity of the current drug policy.
I overdosed on pot once and it was devastating.....my hair grew really long, i ate all the food I could afford, quit my job and hitched a ride to NYC where I am now camped out with my fellow stoners protesting wall street. Notwithstanding my personal experience, I support making it legal for adults since the kids today seem to have as much as they want.

Abuse of painkillers is an epidemic in our society. It's way too easy to get the prescriptions.
ReplyDeleteRemember folks, if a guy in a white jacket sells it to you, it's a-ok. He's paid the tax man, so don't worry everything's on the up and up!
ReplyDeletewhen the this insane grip on sensability prevail over the death grip BIG PHARMA, distillers have over this issue. It is obvious this drug is not as dangerous as prescriptions for depression, smoking, etc which continue to kill us. They wonder why we have increase in the suicide rates..well me thinks it due to all the LEGAL drugs and thier side effects...
ReplyDeleteJust proves the actual fact that you cannot overdose with Marijuana. Just make the stuff legal tax the crap out of it and move on it doesnt take a moron to figure that out
ReplyDeleteI thought Marijuana smoke was about ten times worse for you than cigarette smoke and what about second smoke. everybody in the house or car will be high. They do need to tighten up on passing out pain killers.
ReplyDelete5:02 It doesn't need to be smoked to be enjoyed.....in CA they make all kinds of edible goodies with weed.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the pain pills, it's the damn junkies who get them to get high with. Weed these out and the numbers go down. Put the blame where it belongs.
