If You Dig Deep Enough And Play Nice, This Is What You Get

Obviously Salisbury News doesn't "Play Nice" enough to get a photo op with the Mayor but this does explain more as to why the Daily Times photographer was down on the Plaza.

I started snooping around and was able to snap off some pictures of the Mayor stringing up lights. Clearly the Daily Times was INVITED to come play with the Mayor, some of us were not.

Aside from my little dig, it truly is nice to see so much effort going in to beautify the Plaza. My hat is tipped to the Mayor for making it happen.

  1. You don't play nice with him Joe so why would be play nice with you.

  2. It is nice to see the city working on the lights on the plaze. It has been neglected and sprucing it up will help it to have a better chance of attracting merchants and keeping hte ones they have, but aren't there employees who can do this, or the prison labor that we heard about at budget time. Jim isn't getting his work done in the Mayor's office as it is and should be focusing on that rather than the next press op. Between hanging lights, attending secret meetings with Barrie Tilghman and her cronies at the chamber and working on the petition drive it's no wonder that the Wal-Mart papers were not ready for council consideration and that the work and extra money will now go to deputies from the Sheriff's office. Nice job, Jim.

  3. anonymous 3:15, Will you be saying the same thing when I win the lawsuit against the City and County?

You are being way to gracious Joe.

If I could really say what I feel, it wouldn't get published.

I will be so glad when we get some SERIOUS leadership in this city and county.

That said, why don't YOU run for office Joe?

You piss me off at times but if you could keep doing what you have been doing IN OFFICE, maybe things could get done without all the bs we have now.

With your following, I am pretty confidant that you could be elected. (If you wanted the headache that is sure to come with being in office)

You helped get rid of some of the bad eggs around here. People (citizens, not officials) are following your lead at fixing up downtown. You point out things and get people motivated to get involved.

    Why the hell not?

I'm sure your ego would love it too. lol.

All kidding aside, you would probably have some opposition from council and others who don't like you and are jealous and whatever else they harbor against you. But in the long run I think you could turn things around and, get them on-board.

It would be interesting to say the least.

Heck, if I was you, I would do it just to piss off some people. lol

  7. anonymous 4:23, I have already made steps to do so.

In fact, let Barrie Tilghman, Mike Dunn, Lynn Cathcart, Jim Ireton and the rest of the dirty dozen get the City absorbed into the County. My next stop on this train just may be the County Executive's Office.

  8. He invited her down so he could once again be in the paper. Has any other Salisbury Mayor been photographed to be in the Daily Times as much as he has?

  9. The Mayor's cancelled tomorrow night's Neighborhood Roundtable Meeting due to preparations for Friday night's Tree Lighting event.
Now you know this is a crock. I bet he cancelled the meeting because he can't come up with an excuse as to why he fired off the Assumption Press Release-the one in which he assumed Cohen, Campbell and Spies assumed that Boda signed the MOU.

I thought so. I remember reading something to that effect.

Just a little support to keep you interested.

  11. Hopefully they will make sure all the lights work!

  12. Last year I mentioned possibly running for Mayor and wouldn't you know it, John Robinson started telling every one he was going to run for Mayor. A few weeks ago I mention the possibility of my running for County Executive and wouldn't you know it, (again) John Robinson is now telling people he's going to run. Man, that would be so cool! The obsession continues.

  13. Photo Op, Photo Op, Photo Op, that's all this is - if Jimmy Boy can't get his picture in the paper at least once a week, he's not happy and you just don't play nice Joe cause you don't take his picture enough and put it on here. What a cry baby he is, all the BS about not playing nice.

  14. All this fussing over the plaza when there are areas in Salisbury where the children can't even go outside to play. Those are the areas that need sprucing up, the areas where people actually live.
He's like a wolf in sheeps clothing a false prophet who was going to go after all these slum lords who made Salisbury so bad.

  15. Yes there are other places that Salisbury exists other than downtown plaza..we would like a few lights and happy also. :)

  16. It would be nice if all the streets lights worked in all neighborhoods, let alone Christmas lights.

He talks of the council dragging their feet while he's getting yet another photo op, taking time for the petition and meetings of mindless at the chamber when he's got a lot of other work to do.

As already said, he should have been making sure his staff had the MOU prepared (with the proper signature) for the council to pass instead of his special interests.

  17. So who's signature was on the original MOU? Boda's or a store manager? Now all of a sudden it's a store manager who signs these things relating to on duty officers providing Walmart security and not Boda as his duties as Asset Protection Coordinator which was okay when the officers did security off duty.
The city had never had this arrangement before so council members have the duty to make sure all is done properly and the signatures required do make it a legally binding agreement.
This "get er done" attitude by some on the council is so irresponsible. They need to get out if they don't want to take the time to see that the city is fully protected in situations like this.

  18. Why did it take so long for Walmart to respond? Black Friday is the same every freakin' year, the day after Thanksgiving!
