I Think We'll Stick Around For A While

Thanks to Butch Gardner, (Gardner Signs) we were able to put up the signs in our window just in time for 3rd Friday. Not that pretty much anyone and every one didn't already know where we were located, well, now those that don't, do.

  1. That looks very professional. I really hate it when some people go overboard. Robinson is trying to compete with Gardner but keeps screwing up jobs. He's constantly forced to discount even more because he can't get the job done right. If he did your job it would say sbyjews.com. Then he'd sell you on why you should pay ten cents on the dollar and keep it up.

  3. This is the best looking and best kept building on the entire downtown plaza.

This should be a showcase and sets a good example of what others should be doing on the Plaza.

  4. I would love to decorate windows like that for Christmas. I can just picture an old time Christmas display in those windows.
I would do animated Victorian dressed carolers around a decorated tree with lots of greenery and poinsettias and pipe the Christmas carols and tunes outside.

That sounds like a great idea!

  6. I like the new camera system you have on that building Joe. You really have to be in the business to recognize them.

  7. Well, since you mention Christmas, this will be one of the spots for people to drive by and see this Holiday Season.

I'm not giving anything away but believe me, you'll love what we're going to do to the place.

  8. I should add, we may, (MAY) have a live feed camera set up on the Internet from the top of the building as well. Kind of like the one they have in Ocean City.

  9. Nice looking building Joe. Who was it that restored it in 1983 when it was boarded up and a blight to the City?

  10. anonymous 7:25, how convenient a time to bring up such a question.

The building I now own, (300 W. Main Street) was reconstructed by Palmer Gillis.

Am I a fan of his work, well, I will say that my building was his very first renovation project. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars re renovating the building and I'll leave it at that.

Do I believe he does good work, yes. I'm confident that as time went on and Palmer renovated other projects he learned from his mistakes.

In my own personal opinion, when I renovate something I spare no expense in doing it right the first time around.

Now, clearly you are someone related to, employed and or a Gillis yourself. Are you suggesting there's still a future deal ahead with the Feldman's building?

Is that why such a question has popped up, looking for additional support now that we've exposed that we're keeping a keen eye on that property?

  11. Over a 25 year period you should expect to spend thousands of dollars on maintaining a building. The reasons that buildings are found in such bad shape is that people do not keelp their property up. Good job on keeping your property up!

  12. anonymous 9:11, believe me, I could spend tens of thousands more but the state won't allow me.

I'd like to replace the 2nd & 3rd floor windows. They are single pane windows and have zero efficiency. Even though I have a company that will replace the look exactly, the state said no. They want me to refurbish the ones I have, which will cost 2 to 3 times the cost of new efficient windows.

We're proud of what we've done so far. Thank You.
