Today as I was driving on Rt. 50 I spotted a lot of smoke on Seminole Blvd.
After a closer look I could see two unattended fires burning in the street. Obviously one of the property owners decided rather than bagging up the leaves, why not burn them instead.
Folks, this is against the law in many different ways. With the winds like they have been lately, this is just plain stupid, especially being unattended.
Look at the area.
ReplyDeletethere is an idiot that does this on Oak ridge Drive.
ReplyDeleteJoe, did you notify the police?
ReplyDeleteStupid is as stupid does.
ReplyDeleteMy neighbors burn their leaves in their yards, and on the street all the time.
ReplyDeleteAre you saying that this practice is against the law, or is leaving the fire unattended the unlawful act?
I hate it when they do this, and the smoke wafts over to my house. On days like this, with my windows open, the smell can be horrendous.
Nothing illegal about burning leaves unless there is a burning ban in effect. There is no need to be in attendance every second unless there is a chance of fire spreading. They could be watching from a window in the house.
ReplyDeleteUnless someone is dumb enough to walk into the fire I see no problem with it.
For information about State or County burning regulations please call the Wicomico County Health Department Environmental Health Division at 410-546-4446.
ReplyDeleteSeminole huh ? They must have dropped their crack pipe as they ran away
