NARRATIVE:
On August 18, 2011 a Deputy of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office took an
initial report of a Burglary and Theft from a remotely located hunting camp
located on the Beaver Dam Creek, Berlin, Worcester County, Maryland. Reported
stolen was a 12’ fiberglass boat, electric trolling motor & battery, pair of
chest waders, battery charger, set of deer antlers, Duck mount, Black Bear skin
and several bottles of alcohol.
On Friday, November 18, 2011 a lead developed in the investigation and
ultimately resulted in two (2) juveniles being identified. The case was worked
until the early morning hours of Saturday, November 19, 2011 and resulted in the
recovery of the set of deer antlers, Duck mount and Black Bear skin. The through
the course of interviews the location of the remainder of the stolen property
was identified.
On Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11:15am the 12’ fiberglass boat, electric
trolling motor & battery were recovered with the assistance of the Maryland
Natural Resource Police. Later that afternoon the pair of chest waders and
battery charger was recovered. All the stolen property initially reported stolen
with the exception of the alcohol has been returned to the owner.
The two (2) juveniles involved in this crime have been charged and released to
their parents. The charging documents will be forwarded to Juvenile Justice for
processing and disposition at a future date.
