I saw the blimp and it wasn't the Air Force, But the Navy.They were circling around the east end of Salisbury...more than likely they were just training. Sound like somebody is pulling your leg.
It was the navy's MZ-3A Airship. Used for surveillance and reconnaissance, also for testing new sensor technology. They are alot cheaper to keep up in the air than helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. They used this one in the Gulf Coast to aid in the oil cleanup.
