Incident: Possession of Marijuana

Narrative: On 14 October 2011 at 11:22 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle for a registration violation on Beaglin Park Drive. Upon approach to the vehicle, the deputy detected the odor of burnt marijuana emanating from within. The deputy inquired further into the activities of the occupants and subsequently began a search of the interior which led to the recovery of two small baggies of marijuana.
Two juveniles were placed under arrest and transported to the Sheriff’s Office where they were released to guardians pending formal court adjudication.

Incident: Loud Party
Date of Incident: 15 October 2011
Location: 1400 block of May Drive, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: 1. Benjamin A. Kovalick, 20, Salisbury, MD
2. Derek G. Bates, 20, Salisbury, MD
3. Eric Mark Aumann, 20, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 15 October 2011 at 12:25 AM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported large party in the 1400 block of May Drive that was creating a neighborhood disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputies counted over 100 party goers and heard loud music and screaming coming from the property. The deputies observed substantial amounts of alcohol both inside the residence and in the yard.
Unfortunately the residents throwing the party were not old enough themselves to possess alcohol.
The party goers were dispersed and the three residents listed above were charged with possession of alcohol while under 21 years of age.

Incident: DUI / Possession of Marijuana
Date of Incident: 17 October 2011
Location: Memory Garden Lane, Hebron, MD
Suspect: Katie A. O’Connor, 21, Hebron, MD
Narrative: On 17 October 2011 at 2:40 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported single vehicle collision on Memory Garden Lane in the area of Log Cabin Road.
Upon arrival, the deputy located a vehicle that had struck a concrete abutment and had extensive damage.
Upon locating the operator, Katie O’Connor, the deputy observed she appeared visibly intoxicated. The deputy administered roadside field sobriety testing which led to O’Conner’s subsequent arrest. Post arrest,
the deputy discovered a marijuana smoking device and marijuana in the center console of O’Connor’s vehicle.
O’Connor refused to take a breath test in the DUI case.
The deputy transported O’Connor to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, O’Connor was held initially in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.
