JESSUP, Md. (AP) - The death of a 22-year-old patient in the maximum security wing of a Maryland state mental hospital has been ruled a homicide.
State police spokesman Greg Shipley said the medical examiner found Saturday that Clifton T. Perkins Hospital patient David Rico-Noyola died from multiple injuries including blunt force trauma. Shipley says that trauma to his upper body and head was likely inflicted by the hands of 24-year-old suspect Vitali Davydov, who has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and returned to Perkins.
