Judge May Let Jurors Tour Bus Where Slaying Occurred
Civil Trial Involved 5 Correctional Officers
BALTIMORE -- A judge in Baltimore is considering allowing jurors in a civil trial to go aboard a prison bus on which an inmate was murdered.Circuit Judge Sylvester Cox reserved judgment Tuesday on a plaintiffs' motion for jurors to tour the bus on which Philip Parker Jr. was slain in 2005.Jury selection was expected later Tuesday in the case to determine whether five correctional officers were negligent in failing to prevent inmate Kevin Johns from strangling Parker as they traveled from Hagerstown to Baltimore.
