Take advantage of this absolutely beautiful day by getting outdoors and enjoying the Eastern Shore. They still have that Beer Festival thing going on at Pemberton Park from 12:30 to 6:00, or so. I can tell you it was packed yesterday and I expect to see the same thing today.
This is their 2nd Annual event adding much needed income to the County through local restaurant and hotel revenue/taxes. I was looking at our calendar of events and there's only one event up there for today. That's unusual.
Have a great day Folks.
Shoot, football, racing, ice cold brews and some seafood. I aint going nowhere.
ReplyDeleteKind of ironic given that the federal, state and county governments spend tons of money on preventing drunk driving but the county benefits from an event the is focused on drinking and the is a lack of public transportation to and from Pemberton Park.
ReplyDeleteActually I was very pleased with this event - and I am not even a big beer drinker. I volunteered to help, and it was a lot of fun. Much like being at the Salisbury Festival block party.
ReplyDeleteI only saw one person that I was seriously concerned about him driving and the cops quickly took care of him.
There were at least a thousand people at this event (maybe more) over the last two days and no mention of it at all in the Daily Times or even by their sponsor WBOC. (but the DT did write a whole article about the fruit flies being around)
Believe it or not, people can actually walk around, taste beer, listen to music, spend time watching a football game - without being drunk and disorderly! There were cabs available and DD's were encouraged for the event.
Thanks to Parks and Rec for being willing to step out of the box.
What a beautiful weekend. 4:08 it wasn't a drunk - fest, it's defined as a craft-brew tasting, maybe an ounce or two at a time. It was a great time, food, music and, god forbid, great beer and seeing friends......
