Incident: Handgun on Person
Date of Incident: 24 October 2011
Location: 1000 block of Tyler Avenue, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Donald H. Ellis, 30, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 24 October 2011 at 10:03 PM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office
responded to a complaint of a suspicious subject in the 1000 block of Tyler Avenue in Salisbury. Upon
arrival, the deputies located the subject later identified as Donald Ellis of Salisbury. During the encounter,
Ellis began acting furtively which further raised the suspicions of the deputies. One of the deputies began
a pat down of Ellis for a weapon and recognized the feel of a handgun in the waistband of Ellis’ pants.
The deputy attempted to handcuff Ellis who instead tried to push away from the deputy while reaching
into in his pants in what appeared to be an attempt to grab the handgun. A second deputy utilized a Tazer
device to gain Ellis’ compliance.
Ellis was arrested and transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front
of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Ellis in the
Detention Center in lieu of $20,000.00 bond.
Charges: Handgun on Person
Concealed Dangerous Weapon
Resist Arrest
Two criminals, one with a badge and one without. Bet this is thrown out of court on trial day or if the SA office is lucky they will get a plea bargain. This has the typical illegal detain and search written all over it.
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like the Deputies knew what they were doing. I'm for one glad they got a criminal and a gun off the Streets. Who knows what Ellis was going to do. Isn't there some earlier posts about home invasions with handguns?
ReplyDelete12:57: Put your money where your mouth is...it's my belief that you're a Criminal yourself...
January of 2010:
ReplyDeleteSALISBURY, Md.- Authorities have arrested a Salisbury man accused of assaulting and robbing another man in November.
Salisbury police on Tuesday took 28-year-old Donald Henry Ellis into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant charging him with robbery, first- and second-degree assault, theft (under $100) and reckless endangerment.
Police say Ellis was one of a group of males who assaulted, then robbed a lone adult male victim in the area of East Church and Naylor streets on Nov. 9. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident, according to police.
Following his arrest, Ellis was turned over to the custody of Wicomico Central Booking
12:57: Hmmmmm....
@12:57
ReplyDeleteGotta love them street lawyers. Sure know what they are talking about.
Look at Maryland Judicial Case Search and search for the defendant:
ReplyDeleteThis guy needs to go to jail for a long long long time...He is not a productive member of the Community.
And personally I don't care HOW the cops do it.
The poster defending him shoud be ashamed. No wonder this County is so crime ridden with people like that defending criminals like Ellis
.He is not a productive member of the Community.
ReplyDeleteAnd personally I don't care HOW the cops do it.
YOU'RE thinking is scary, very scary.
If you allow cops to arrest people FOR ANY REASON and/or ANY FASHION, do you have any idea what pandora box that would open?
Of course you don't. You don't have the capacity to think or see past your nose.
Maybe that should happen to you. Let us know how you like it.
And 3:04 PM, you and the other two have no idea what you are talking about either, so maybe you shouldn't throw stones.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what I am talking about......a felon was arrested with a handgun on his person and was trying to pull it out on someone, anyone, the police.....I dont see where there is a problem with this guy going to jail....the police were apparently called to the area for a reason. I dont think they just showed up to harass someone. This is not a police state. Most officers I know are actually there to help society. Sure there are bad cops but from the facts that I read in Joe's post I dont see a problem with this case. Apparently felons can carry weapons as long as noone gets caught...and then they will try and use whatever they can to get to out of there predicament...pathetic...
ReplyDeleteI cant believe comments like these are approved to be posted joe...seriously. I known criminal is taken off the streets with having a gun on him and then a friend, family member or Ellis himself tries to smear the deputies that put their life on the line to protect and serve. Garbage like that should not even be entertained......
ReplyDelete7:37 So it's just better that this criminal breaks into your house and rapes your daughter or wife right? The way I read the original story is that the cops got a call, went to check it out, found the persons called on and wow...one of them has a gun during a pat down for weapons...on a dark street, late at night...
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think these two were doing? Are there not enough guns on the Street?
Then the fool tries to pull the gun on the cops??? He should be put to rest and it shows incredible restraint of the cops to be honest...
BUT apparently you don't want these things to happen...you'd rather have the guys walking the Streets of Salisbury committing more crime.
You might want to look at YOUR thinking, THAT'S SCARY!
How do you think that's "any reason or any fashion"? What's he supposed to do? Wait until he shoots someone, then arrest him? Great reactive thinking...it's people like you that are SCARY...
These guys did their jobs and I'm grateful for it!!! THANK YOU!
and to 7:37 and 7:41: you are the one that doesn't know what he/she is talking about, you sound like an anarchist, overthrow the government types. See how far that gets ya
