$204.8 million is almost double this year's allotment
If school officials get their way, Annapolis Elementary, Severna Park High and several other county schools will get construction money in the coming year.
Those projects are part of a $204.8 million capital budget proposed for fiscal 2013 - a spending plan almost double the $116.4 million allocated this year.
The proposed budget, released at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting, calls for first-year construction funds for Lothian, Crofton, Mills-Parole, Rolling Knolls, Benfield and West Annapolis elementary schools.
The plan also calls for Severna Park High School to get design money for a second year - $5.7 million this time - to prepare for construction that will be carried out as soon as funds are available.
