(RIYADH, Saudi Arabia) — Saudi King Abdullah has given the kingdom's women the right to vote for first time in nationwide local elections, due in 2015. The king said in an annual speech on Sunday before his advisory assembly, or Shura Council, that Saudi women will be able to run and cast ballots in the 2015 municipal elections.
Don't do it !
ReplyDeletethere goes THAT country....
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure that the two people who commented above have less education than me. Glad to know that people still believe women are second class citizens .I am sure that I am able to make a better educated decisions than either of you and guess what I have the XY chromosome.
ReplyDeleteThey can vote but they aren't allowed to drive. HOpe the polls are in walking distance!! Wonder if there will be any Black Panthers with billy clubs at the polling places like here in America.
ReplyDeleteThey are ALLOWED to vote, but must ask permission from a male member of the household if they CAN go outside to vote (and must be escorted by a male member of the family)....if he is not, they do, of course, run the risk of being set on fire (by their own family). Being muslim ain't easy....
ReplyDeleteas long as they vote for who their husbands tell them to vote for, whats the problem? at least they won't be voting for obama like the stupid women in this country!
