  2. Emergency Management did the right thing. You cannot wait until the very last minute to do something like this...All this amounts to is the money hungry people..Get over yourselves and thank the good Lord that we were spared.

  3. Guess they would have been happier with loss of life and property along with loss of business, instead of just the last one.

I don't have sympathy. You can't evacuate 200,000 people with 2 hours notice. Then it would have been too late.

  4. anonymous 5:11, it was a category TWO storm before it hit land. Let me repeat, TWO, not a five!

They made a STUPID move, period.

  5. Joe, sorry to disagree with you but the authorities can not wait until the last minute and react. Look at all the damage Irene has done to other parts of the East Coast. Thank God it didn't happen in OC. They made the right call at the right time---it's not their fault it changed to a category 2. But be happy it did.

  6. I can see getting OC to evac but towns such as Mardela? A curfew in Salisbury?

Granted they erred on the side of safety, (except for OC, that was needed) but running around like a chicken with your collective heads cut off?

Making people panic? The best thing out of all that was injuries were minimal.
