Report: Murdoch Offers $4.7M To Hacking Victim

(CBS/AP) LONDON - Rupert Murdoch's company said Monday that it is in advanced compensation talks with the family of a murdered teenager whose phone was hacked by the now-defunct News of the World tabloid.
The payout Murdoch's company is reportedly offering is in the neighborhood of $4.7 million, with around $1.6 million to be a charitable donation on behalf of the family, The Guardian newspaper reports. The family was allegedly seeking something in the neighborhood of $5.5 million in compensation.
