CHEVY CHASE, Md. (AP) - Gov. Martin O'Malley is urging supporters of gay marriage rights in Maryland to engage in the goodness of people who don't yet agree with them to advance the greater good of equal rights under the law.
O'Malley, a Democrat who will be sponsoring gay marriage legislation in next year's session, spoke at a fundraiser for Equality Maryland on Wednesday in Chevy Chase.
He was joined by Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and Attorney General Doug Gansler, as well as state lawmakers.

And gay marriage in Maryland has some bipartisan support, with the Republican Speaker and former Sen. Paul Sarbanes strongly supporting gay marriage.
ReplyDeleteThere continues to be no rational basis to deny committed same sex couples civil marriage licenses, which is why it is inevitable.
Gay marriage will be followed by the pedophilia movement and will be the hammer to shut down Christian churches.
ReplyDeleteYou only need to lower the legal age to marry to make pedophilia legal.
ReplyDeleteHey anonymous: why are you obsessed with pedophilia? Equal marriage for gay couples is about legal aged, consenting adults having access to civil marriage (ie, compulsory tax and property rights). At a time when our economy is in the garbage, why are we denying loving, committed couples the economic benefits of marriage? There is no rational reason, and screaming PEDOPHILIA, is not rational. It's an alarmist red herring that has nothing to do with the efforts to give same sex couples the right to marry in Maryland.
ReplyDeletePedophilia involves a victim, there is nothing in common with two consenting adults getting married.
ReplyDeleteSame sex marriage does not coincide with my preferences or beliefs, but that doesn't mean that other people with conflicting views are wrong. Live and let live. Other than religion, what are the reasons people don't want same sex marriage?

ReplyDeleteIt is degusting! What would attract a man to another mans butt hole!
You already have civil unions which proves it's not about equal rights.
ReplyDelete5:19 Don't know where you live, but neither Maryland or the US as a whole has civil unions.
ReplyDeleteMD has civil unions my cousin had one drawn up. And as for the U.S. this is a states rights issue and should stay that way.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't agree with gay marriage, don't get gay married!
