Ocean City Attorney Ed Hammond Killed In Car Accident
Salisbury News has learned that Attorney Ed Hammond from Ocean City was killed in a car accident on Rt. 50. We're told he rear ended a SHA Dump Truck and didn't survive the crash. More to come...
Ed Hammond, was from Berlin, pronounced Burlynn if your family has been there for ever. Ed was a real honest attorney in his private practice as well when he was the full time Worcester County Attorney. He truly loved all parts of Worcester County, but he especially loved Berlin and devoted many hours to the Museum in Berlin. Help save the Atlantic Hotel and revitilize Berlin . He was great fun to argue with,he was respectful of other people's opinon's even when we did not agree, which was often.
Ed was a man of many talents, he was a pretty good Auctioneer, we worked several benefit auctions, very knowledgeable about antiques in all era's.
All of us who had the honor to know him will miss him very much.
I worked for Ed in the 1990's when he was a Partner at the Law Offices...I have not spoke to him in over 10-years, however, to this day I remember him fondly as a great mentor, encourager and friend. He cared deeply about his clients, the community and his family. A great loss. Barbara Shelly
This is a very sad day for Ed's family and for Worcester County. It has been my pleasure to know Ed for about 30 years. He was a wonderful gentleman and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
12:07 Perhaps you should consider shutting your pie hole without knowing the full story. It is quite possible that a sudden or unknown medical condition caused Mr. Hammond to run onto the shoulder.
Somtimes my comments are not posted and I don't know why. However, I think its the comments like the one from 12:07 that should not be allowed on this blog. Show some compassion for the family, please.
pretty sure 12:07 wasn't saying Mr.Hammond was a idiot..just that there are a lot of idiot drivers and that's why a lot of people are getting killed on the roads. Witch is true..a lot of accidents happen because of people not paying attention..or thinking they can make it across the road, so they don't have to wait any longer.. people seem to always be in a rush to get where there going.
RIP Ed Hammond..Prayers are sent out to your family!
10:39, We do have comprehension skills. We also have tact, do you? The family really does not need to read things like that right now. September 2, 2011 11:26 AM
Evidently YOU do not have comprehension skills. It was just explained to you and you still don't get it. If it wasn't directed at him, tact does not enter the equation.
So stfu and grow up. Get together with your other illiterate friends on here and have a study session.
If you don't know what you're talking about, you shouldn't open your pie hole.
OH NO!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is very sad news. My husband always had great words for Mr Hammond and we were sorry when he retired from Joe Moore's office.

ReplyDeleteThe truck was on the shoulder -- so far no idea why he (apparently) ran off the road.
Route 50 is a killer highway -- Sam Vincent a little over a year ago, and that doctor a little bit before that.

It's not the highway that kills, it's the idiots driving on it.
And that includes just about any road in this country. Just because someone has a license does not mean they can drive.
12:07, Go puke on yourself. Remember your mother's advice: If you can't say something nice, shut the heck up.

ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm glad SOMEONE has some comprehension skills. It's quite obvious that most do not.

Then why do you and your girlfriends try to make it against their family? Even after you were told it wasn't about him?
Are you one of those people who would rather have their fingernails pulled out than admit you were wrong?
Just crawl back under your rocks and leave me be.
