More College Grads Defaulting On Student Loans

According to the latest numbers from the Dept. of Education, there was a sizable increase in the percentage of college students who defaulted on their student loans in 2009.

  1. No news here, my daughter graduated four years and got a job in the field of her study at $12.00 per hour. DUH.

  3. They won't hire an applicant without a degree Daddio. You certainly don't get out of education what you put into it these days.

  4. @ 8:15 that is total BS. Thats why so many college kids can not find jobs right out of school anymore, the employers are hiring the people with more experience over the people who are fresh out of school with a degree. My girlfriends father was just offerd a job over over 120 aplicants he was the only person they called because he had 30 years of experience in the field. The person literally told him they called no one else, just him becaus eof his experience. Anymore its is almost worthless to go to college unless you are attempting to join the medical field. No jobs and a large sum of debt does not bode well for the future. I would rather have gone to a trade school where the tution is way less or close to nothing, that way when you come out you have just as good of a shot at a job with so much less debt.
