WASHINGTON (AP) - The FBI and Homeland Security have issued a nationwide warning about al-Qaida threats to small airplanes, just days before the anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Authorities say there is no specific or credible terrorist threat for the 10-year anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. But they have stepped up security nationwide as a precaution.
According to a five-page law enforcement bulletin issued Friday, as recently as early this year, al-Qaida was considering ways to attack airplanes.
The alert, issued ahead of the summer's last busy travel weekend, said terrorists have considered renting private planes and loading them with explosives.
Man! we waited all day yesterday for'em. Dag, wrong day. So it's 9-11-11. and they be in little air o planes. Gotcha.
ReplyDeleteAnd now the Obama administration is going after private plane owners under the guise of security.
ReplyDeleteLittle by little Obama is taking property and rights away from all of us.
If they weren't doing something, then you people would be saying that they didn't do anything after something happened. Geesh!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of the scare tactics used by our government, whether it be by this administration or the previous one, but I look at it as better safe than sorry when it comes to this "threat".

ReplyDeleteAnd it is people with attitudes like yours that are costing all of us our rights.

11:13 Like searching your 90yo Grandmother at the airport. I know it makes me feel alot safer.
ReplyDeleteWell I was gonna blast 11:13 but you guys did a good job of it. He sounds like the same nut that says if you don't like being searched, don't fly. smh
ReplyDeleteYou mean obama is pefectly fine with people being able to WALK ACROSS the border (and easily be carrying a small nuclear weapon), but is really freaked out about, and willing to throw all of our rights out the window, because someone MIGHT have a small plane with some bombs? Quit trying to scare peple as a way to completely and unequivocally trash the Constitution.
