Claymont-Delaware State Police Robbery Detectives have arrested a Claymont man in connection with the robbery of the Wawa Store, Claymont.
The incident occurred on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at approximately 4:00 a.m. as a male suspect entered the store and displayed a hand gun. He then pointed the gun at a 29 year old employee of the store and demanded money from the cash register. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect. The suspect then fled from the store and was last seen running in a westbound direction. The clerk was not injured.
After releasing the surveillance photos of the suspect to the media, Delaware Crime Stoppers received several tips identifying the suspect as Concezio J. Dangeli-25 of Claymont. Through further investigation, Troop 2 Robbery Detectives were able to connect Dangeli to the robbery.
The investigation culminated on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 with a search warrant of Dangeli’s residence located in the unit block of Balfour Avenue, Claymont, DE. Dangeli was taken into custody without incident.
Dangeli was arrested and charged with the above crimes. He was arraigned and committed to HRYCI for lack of $28,000.00 Secured Bond.
