That case came to trial today where the defendant, (a Bloods Gang Member) tried to do an Alford Plea, agreeing to a 15 year sentence.
Judge Davis rejected the Alford Please and instead sentenced him to 25 years in jail, 5 years suspended. At that moment the Gang in the court room went nuts in anger.
We'll see if the States Attorneys Office will put out a Press Release today but I'm sure it won't mention the outburst.

ReplyDeleteWow! and our great Wicomico county court just let a Mother of three and her nutty ,druggy , abusive boyfriend ..both take plea deals..There was drugs ,child abuse and a whole lot more going on in this case....I guess its who can work the system and cry poor me the loudest...Come on guys ....

Now if these Salisbury Judges would just do the same to all the druggies that stand before them full of lame excuses and empty promises of better becoming better citizens.
ReplyDeleteI know of one who has been in and out of Wicomico County jail for years that was given "work release." Yeah, right, the punk hasn't worked a day in 10 over 10 years and has no intention of starting now.
The system is broken and needs to be repaired. Throw all the bastards in Prison and throw away the key.

ReplyDeleteIt's about time they start putting them in prison. What concerns me most is we don't have enough prisons to hold them all if they get sentenced as needed!
The Judge who sentences these "hoods" should never have their face or name disclosed to the criminals.
I sure wouldn't want to be the judge to impose the sentence-----believe me. He's brave to do so!

ReplyDeleteI give hands up to the officer(s) that had to deal with the arrest of this situation. Especially since officers handle this type of incidents all the time and never know what will happen when they make these routine traffic stops. Congrats to the officer for the stop and all the way to the ranks of Judge who gave him 25 years to think in prison.

I'm sure he will have a family reunion when he arrives to the prison.
3/4 of them are probably related. Same mother, different fathers.
As a current school administrator in Wicomico county, we have been pretty much told to downplay this by senior staff. Routinely we all see in the local schools, gang activity, prison "tats", "flags" and the like to the point where it is just mainstream. We are powerless to stop this as long as the conventional wisdom is to downplay this as a group of wannabes. The SROs (school resource officers) agree with us, but their superiors, as well as urs want to keep this quiet. At what point do we as a population and concerned community react and attend to this? The general public at large needs to get involved and have a real say in local politics through their elected officials and our personal actions that we will not tolerate this.

Most jails, detention centers and prison in this area, are a joke. It's a holiday. It's a vacation for most of these criminals. These criminals live better than, the folks in the tent cities. And, this is sad. Just go to wcdc. The "clients" living at wcdc, got more rights and priviledges then the employees who work there. There is no place to house criminals in this area. The jails, detention centers and prisons remind me of a place to play; The ROMPER ROOM playhouse.

How does a routine traffic stop result in a vehicle search? Its ok that the police department make illegal searches when it comes to "gang violence" but when the search turns up nothing, all hell breaks loose.
Double standard much? Laws are in place for a reason. Police need to follow them the same way non-police are supposed to follow them.
That said, I understand there was a "shooting," but 20 years? That seems a little extreme. 10-15 seems a little more plausible.
Its funny that someone who is under possession of marijuana would get the same 20 years. Why? Does that really make sense to you?
But at the end of the day, a gang member IS off the street, so thats all that matters... right? Right?
The law is the law. Don't break it.
