4 charged In Videotaped Fla. Football Brawl

SARASOTA, Fla. - Three youth football coaches and a 14-year-old player have been criminally charged with assaulting a referee in last weekend's videotaped brawl at a game in southwest Florida. (Watch the video below).

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said Friday that all four will face a felony charge of battery on a sports official. If convicted they could face up to four years in prison.

The incident was captured on video Saturday in a game between 13- and 14-year-old players. It got national attention this week when the video was turned over to the sheriff's office and released to the media.

  1. After they get out of prison they should all have a lifetime ban from youth sporting events.

  3. That is what you get when you allow people to bet on these games played by children. Suddenly a football game is not just a football game anymore. ESPN did a whole story on the controversy in FL with parents and "thugs" betting on pee wee football games even. They had a pastor on there speaking about how it is hurting the community and how it brings out violence, then they show him video they had of him also placing bets and making money lol. My how his story changed then " I was just holding the money." LOL, this is a joke and something seriousl needs to be done.

  5. looks like you've got a whole bunch of blacks beatings up on the white ref. if it had been a bunch of whites beating up on a black ref, jesse jackson and al sharpton would be organizing marches, and it would be plastered all over the news, calling it a hate crime, and how racism is alive and well.

  8. And where are Sharpton and Jackson? If the shoe was on the other foot, they would be all over this. And the big 350 lb+ chicken jumping in and kicking the referee when he was down? Great example.

  9. I especially liked the high fiveing they did after they jumped ONE man. They seemed to be extremely proud of their ignorant display for the whole world to see.

They probably went into the locker room, fired up a joint and laughed about their heroics.

Now put on your hoodies and go stick up a store and get you some booze. You certainly deserve it don't you?
