"My parents always encouraged me to go to college and get educated because they didn't get the opportunity," she said of her mother and father, both farm workers.Ruiz is part of a recent increase in the number of Hispanics attending college in the United States -- a figure that spiked last year and even surpassed that of young blacks, according to a study released last week by the Pew Hispanic Center, part of the Pew Research Center.

ReplyDeleteThey will do very well too, they don't want everything just handed to them. The other group thinks the world owes them everything and they have been accepting Govt. Handouts for 150 years! I am so sick of this nation having to pay "Slave Reperations" in Foodstamps, housing, education, welfare, WIC, ADC, you name it. At least Hispanics work very hard and are christians, know who the daddy of their children is, and don't ask for a free ride for everything.
ReplyDeleteGerald I have to disagree. They come here with their hands out to get free everything. Once they have an anchor baby they are set for years. I have seen many of them in the grocery store with carts full of food and they whip out that little card to get their free food. How many hospitals in California have closed because they don't pay their bills. We owe no one anything you get what you work for in life. Unless you know how to work the system then you get it all for free.
ReplyDeletebe thankful their here

ReplyDeleteBefore you call anyone white trash maybe you really should learn the difference between their, there and they're.
I don't need to feel "superior towards" anyone. I just want people to pull their own weight and not rely on others to pay for their choices. Be responsible for your choices.
Gerald, have you ever been accused of creating broad generalizations?
