FYI. West OC Home Depot has hired a private security company to protect their assets with shotguns. Don’t know about the Salisbury one.

Publishers Note: No such thing going on in Salisbury.

  1. Really? So.. someone who might NEED a piece of plywood during the storm when closed is gonna get shot. Yah, they care about the community alright. I understand theft is illegal, and im not saying anyone should share the wealth, ... Im just sayin, if I needed supplies, and saw a home depot, id be in there. Open OR closed.

  2. John you are an idiot. you cannot enter a business if it's closed, that is called looting and chaos and you will get shot.

  3. John G-Where ya been? Under a rock? Siberia? The moon?
Anyone who needed plywood had plenty of time to go and get it. Anyone who waited until the last minute is out of luck and deserve no sympathy. That goes for any and all storm supplies.
And you can bet your bottom dollar if someone does get shot, the shooter will be the hero and there will be zero sympathy for the looter!

  4. Like i Said, I dont believe in sharing the wealth, and yes people should be prepared. But what about someone who didnt have the money to afford a piece of plywood? Not even sure about the current price of OSB but ive seen it go to around 20 dollars a sheet. Its prolly more around the 9-10 dollars a sheet atm but like i said, i dont know. So, lets say YOU owned that home depot. And someone ran up and grabbed a sheet. Youd pull the trigger and shoot them. Then you find out that this person literally had no money to by the plywood in the first place. Youd still be ok with that?

Yeah, looting is stupid, and it does happen. But now put yourself in that persons shoes.

Your house has broken windows, Water and wind and rain is coming in, and debris. You see a home depot and want to protect your family, what are you going to do?

Also, im sorry , but since when is theft punishable by death?

Just my 2 cents. Its what i think. And none of this really matters to anyone else by myself.

  6. heres my thought if i owned a business like home depot and was armed with a shot gun and someone was going to loot my store the first one in gets shot and i bet the rest run away. the average looter is a scumbag looking only after himself...a true familly man has already made sure his home was in order, and his kids safe.I hope sbynews checks the storm related stories they print as they are incorrect about the west oc store....there is no security company with shot guns....

  8. I was In the home depot and yhere was one gentleman openly carrying a pistol. I can' for the life of me feel that they were going to be mobbed and robbed! Unless it was for the truck load of flash lights and baterries they had. especially D batteries!! lol

  9. Since when do looters steal plywood? If they can hire shotgun security, why can't they pay someone to run the store? But no one is supposed to be driving around so that too is a waste of time and money.

By the time I got to wally world you couldn't find a 'd' or 'c' size battery. People must think there is going to be 3 days of DARKNESS.

Those batteries you hoarded will probably live longer than you. lol

  10. Um, My house is always guarded with a shotgun, a handgun, and a rifle. You come in here past my closed or no trespassing sign, and try to steal, maim, injure, or wreak any havoc, you will meet my shotgun. Period. Nighty night!

Home Depot has the same right. Go for it!

We all need to keep this practice, especially in this economy!
