Seattle Green Jobs Program Gets $20M, Creates 14 Posts

A green jobs program in one of America's greenest cities is being called a bust 16 months after a $20 million federal grant to weatherize homes in Seattle ended up putting just 14 people to work in mostly administrative jobs and upgrading only three homes in the area.

"The jobs are not there," Todd Myers, who wrote the book "Eco Fads," told Fox News. "So we're training people for jobs that don't exist."

  1. This is a DROP in the river of stupid things this president dreams up....out in the REAL world, which he knows absolutely NOTHING about, weatherizing your home is often the LEAST of your worries. You mean I get a tax credit (next year) (whoopee, baby!! Didya hear THAT! a TAX CREDIT!!!) for spending $800 of my money (right now, out-of-pocket) to have some chronically unemployed alchoholic (who just got trained in "caulking" last month) come to my home and "green it up"? It would have been better just to give those chronically unemployed people a check for $50,000....we would have "saved" (obama math) $19,300,000. Now, nto only did we waste all that taxpayer money, those same people are now sucking up student loans & GRANTS to study solar panel installation. BRILLIANT!!!

  2. This money was just funneled into the DNC campaign coffers.
Someone should file an FOIA request of the accounting of this money.
