Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On August 27, 2011 at approximately 11:59 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the roadway on the two hundred (200) block of Elizabeth Street for the report of a disorderly subject. Upon arrival the officers found the below listed subject in the roadway yelling and knocking on residential doors. The officers were able to calm the subject who left the area. A short time later, the officers received a call to return to the same area as the suspect had returned and resumed his behavior. Attempts by the officers to calm the suspect failed and the suspect was taken into custody.

ARRESTED: Edward Frederick Rivera, 37 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Disorderly conduct
Intoxicated endangerment
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On August 29, 2011 at approximately 12:15 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the area of Rt. 50 and W. Isabella Street for the report of an assault. Upon arrival the officers met with an adult male victim who advised that he had been involved in a verbal argument with the below listed suspect. The argument escalated into a physical altercation and resulted in the suspect producing a folding razor and cutting the victim on his left arm. The injury was not life-threatening. The officers located the suspect nearby and recovered the folding razor.


ARRESTED: Ronald Glen Mackert, 58 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: First degree assault
Second degree assault
Reckless endangerment
DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On August 29, 2011 at approximately 5:30 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding arrest warrant for a theft that occurred in July of 2011. On that date officers of the Salisbury Police met with a victim at a local bank in reference to a check forgery and theft. The officer received information from the victim and bank management that indicated that a suspect had forged the victim’s name on a check and had cashed it to receive U.S. currency from the bank. Detectives of the Salisbury Police identified the below listed suspect as responsible for the forgery and theft and received the arrest warrant.

ARRESTED: Ieisha Mariah Fortt, 20 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland
CHARGES: Forgery of a private document (2 cts)
Issuing false document
Theft (under $ 1,000)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

    Starting to get colder so these type of crimes will be increasing; Homless need a place to stay and jail offers three hots and a Cot.
