Quote Of The Day 8-7-11

“If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

Samuel Adams

  1. Now THAT is a quote. THAT is the spirit of what this country was built on. That's the spirit that will take this country back from the greedy government officials that have sold us out for another term. Obama needs to go. Boehner needs to go. Reid needs to go. Most of them need to go. We need to recognize that this quote embraces the feelings that MOST Americans have to one degree or another. But remember this; The American Revolution was fought by 3% of the population. 3%. More than 3% of Americans are feeling that peaceful revolution is now unreachable leaving only one thing left. What will be the spark? A collapse of the stock market? No food on the grocery shelves? An inappropriate government reaction to a protest by the people? I guess we will have to wait and see. But it's very likely we won't have to wait long.

  2. 8:55....good to know there are others....so mmany Americans have forgotten what our country stands for and from where it came. Americans don't need a faceless government leading us by the nose, monitoring and surveilling, controlling every aspect of our behavior. We are independent thinkers and doers, raised to love freedom, not handouts and "assistance". No one thought that dumping tea in a horbor would help spark the greatest revolution in history. But it did. And the wheel is turning again. How much will the citizenry take? Unemployment. Trashed and empty 401(k)'s. Taxes. More taxes. Energy and gas prices. Foreclosures. Higher and higher interest rates. Food prices skyrocketing. Unrestrained police agression. The belligerence and arrogance of our government. More taxes. The "spark"? Might be more like an explosion.
