Nice building-Anne Parker Taylor made it a great and fun place to be. Best of luck to her in all her future endeavors. Sure that doesnt help to sell the place but my wife and I sure liked it and tried to support it when and where we could.
I would love to see this as a Wedding reception building. The lot connected to ot could be transformed to a outside wedding area. I just thought I would throw this idea out there.
9:49, I would recommend Paul Touart's book At The Crossroads: The Architectural History Of Wicomico County, Maryland. The building was erected in 1886, just after the great Salisbury fire. For a good part of the 20th century it housed Dorman and Smythe Hardware Co. Later, as many of you recall, it was Thomas R. Young's Pianos. I am fortunate to have found a tin match holder with Dorman and Smythe advertised on the front.
Good luck with that.
ReplyDeleteWould love to see George C. do an historical background on this building.

ReplyDeleteThe biggest problem, no free parking, building is run down and plaza is always closed?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't give $149,000 for it. It would cost way to much to get it back up to code.
